YouTube Ads

There are several types of ads that may appear during or next to YouTube videos. YouTube may show the ad formats in the below formats before ('pre'), during ('mid') or after ('post') the video.

Skippable Video Ads

Skippable video ads allow viewers to skip ads after five seconds.

Design recommendations
Duration time: 30 seconds max recommended
The video must be uploaded to your youtube channel.


Non-Skippable Video Ads

Non-skippable video ads must be watched before a video can be viewed.

Design recommendations
Duration time: 15-20 seconds

The video must be uploaded to your youtube channel.


Bumper Ads

Short, non-skippable video ads of up to 6 seconds that must be watched before a video can be viewed. Bumper ads are turned on when skippable or non-skippable ads are turned on.

Technical recommendations
Format: .MPG (MPEG-2 or MPEG-4)
File size: Up to 256 GB

Horizontal
Resolution: 1920 x 1080 pixels
Aspect Ratio: 16:9

Vertical
Resolution: 1080 x 1920 pixels
Aspect Ratio: 9:16

Horizontal
Resolution: 1080 x 1080 pixels
Aspect Ratio: 1:1

How to supply your content

To ensure your ads are created accurately and efficiently, please provide the following:

  • Images: Email your image files via Wetransfer to your account manager.

  • Copy: Download our helpful spreadsheet, complete the required fields for each ad format (headlines, primary text, descriptions, and any additional details), and email the finished file to your account manager.

This process helps us keep everything organised and ensures your ads reflect your brand voice and objectives.
